Hedgehog Mushroom advisory

These large young Hedgehog mushrooms are presently appearing in the last week of summer in some of our Maritime mixed forest.

You best go out and gather a few soon before the frost foils them. ciao

    Nice repandums! You have a very cool site with great photos. I live and Southeast Alaska and pick these, and a few other species too. I’m heading to central Manitoba next week. Got a sense for what might be popping there next week?

      Loty, it was one of those wow evening which will provide some good soups later on when the snow has these same grounds covered.

        I am always fascinated with these organisms and I salute you with your wide knowledge about them and also for knowing which are edibles and medicinal. The diversity of mushroom in your area amazes me as well. 🙂
